Overview:

This paper provides information about Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) support in Windows operating systems. Firmware and system designers can use the guidelines and requirements in this paper to ensure proper functionality of Windows operating systems and improve end-user experiences. This paper does not replace any existing firmware requirements (such as ACPI requirements), and therefore the contents must be considered additional requirements for an EFI-based platform.
