A year ago, the competitive cost of its IT environment was far from favorable. Application maintenance costs were rising as a percentage of the IT budget and the ability to invest in more innovative IT projects was diminishing. Consequently, the IT department opted to upgrade from SAP R/3 to SAP ERP 6.0, not only to reduce operational costs, but also to support future business growth and business process enhancements.
