Overview:

This paper attempts to turn view of the importance of the IT network to business on its head. It argues that the IT network is the place to start creating an architecture which is fit for the new networked organisation. The world's social and commercial fabric is transforming before very eyes. This change is affecting lives as citizens of a globalised, connected world, and it is bringing new expectations of how to interact with one another to work. It so happens that the same ways of interacting at home is also very suitable for a new way of doing business and for delivering public services. The same technologies can be used to enable a much more dynamic, creative and connected way of working.
