Overview:
ASOS is the UK's largest online fashion and beauty store, attracting more than one million visitors a week. Due to a growing team of web developers and slowing servers, the team's progress was being affected. ASOS considered purchasing 60 standalone servers to support ongoing projects. However, the number of machines and the cost of supporting them seemed unnecessarily high, so ASOS turned to HP Blade Servers and virtualisation instead. ASOS also purchased HP Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) 6100 storage array and Storage Area Network (SAN) fabric, which provide the storage necessary for virtual servers.
