Overview:

In a recent online survey of 111 senior IT managers, Computerworld asked respondents about their strategies for aligning IT with the business. Survey results show that for many IT leaders, alignment with the business no longer means just cutting costs or rolling out strategic applications. Increasingly, CIOs define alignment in terms of how effectively their IT departments support core business goals for growth and profitability. In effect, IT has to mind top line as well as the bottom line - to improve service, drive growth and deliver value to the business.
