Overview:
With the establishment of the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), vital funds are being allocated to state and local governments - particularly in the areas of municipal, educational, and healthcare projects. While economic pressures continue to affect organizations nationwide, it is believed that these monies might reduce financial strain and help to stabilize local budgets. While access to the funds, and information on how they are to be utilized, is still forthcoming, organizations are preparing to make the best possible use of these important resources, and the federal government is expediting disbursement. Workforce development and community improvement projects are only some of the uses for which the funds will be invested.
