Overview:

The security industry is in transition. The lack of return from traditional systems has end users demanding change and development of superior technology to alleviate their business challenges. Traditional systems perform the task of providing restricted access to facilities and collecting surveillance data for forensic purposes. However, the changing security environment accentuates the need for proactive security over traditionally reactive systems. Key end user challenges driving vendors to develop surveillance technology include scalability, data management and functionality challenges, difficulty in extracting surveillance data for management and operational purposes, inability to perform advanced analytics with existing systems, among others.
