Overview:
Farm Credit Canada wanted to facilitate the company's move from a mainframe-based Visual Basic platform to a Java-based platform to increase flexibility and data integration capabilities and provide a common business application interface for internal applications in support of the company's enterprise integration initiative to eliminate duplicate processes and improve customer service. The challenge was to extend the company's existing IT investment to integrate the new portal with legacy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications and Java-based resources across the enterprise. Farm Credit Canada used Oracle WebLogic Portal as the foundation for an internal portal based on flexible Java Enterprise Technology to consolidate previously siloed business information across Farm Credit Canada and create a common interface for internal applications.
