Overview:

The growth of patient information has made it increasingly difficult for healthcare professionals to access patient-related data and make informed decisions quickly. At The Nebraska Medical Center (TNMC), slow paper-based processes were contributing to physician frustration and low employee satisfaction scores. In 2004, TNMC staff worked with the Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters to implement a mobile solution that helps ensure the availability of information when and where healthcare professionals need it. Using wireless synchronization, users can now access up-to-date information anywhere a wireless or cellular connection is available. The solution is helping TNMC improve efficiency, productivity, and patient care; maximize the value of its existing technology investments; and increase revenue due to operational efficiency.
