Overview:

C2k is a government agency that provides central IT services to approximately 1,200 schools throughout Northern Ireland. C2k's suppliers include HP for Wide-Area Network (WAN) services and Northgate Information Systems for local-area network services. C2k coordinates these services centrally to control costs, maintain service quality, and take advantage of economies of scale. To gain an actionable plan for reducing IT cost and complexity, and to take charge of spending, C2k engaged Microsoft Services for its platform rationalization expertise. Through Microsoft Services Platform Rationalization, C2k worked closely with a Microsoft Architecture and Planning Advisor over the course of eight weeks, pulling in suppliers and key stakeholders across C2k to develop a cohesive plan that would shape future projects and contract negotiations.
