Overview:
Cox Communications is nation's fifth largest cable television company. The company had experienced tremendous growth. The IT operation had kept up - but without initiating and formalizing the processes that would have ensured smooth, effective operation. A Microsoft-led team conducted an operations assessment based on the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF). Cox is now implementing many of the recommendations developed in that process. MOF is a known and emerging Microsoft-specific extension of the industry-standard best practices for IT service management documented by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency's IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
