Remember the last Microsoft SQL Server upgrade? Performing a major version upgrade can be a daunting task considering how many moving parts applications typically have. Verifying that the application will work without problems is no small feat. Issues such as Transact-SQL (T-SQL) compatibility, system and user function, deprecated features, security models all contribute to making one's testing efforts harder.
