Overview:

For many decades, the essential business relationships between users, applications, and data remained static. IT administrators controlled IT resources, operations, and access methods manually. This resulted in a tightly bound physical and operational infrastructure that increased cost, and more importantly, slowed the organization's ability to respond to change. New business requirements now strain this traditional IT infrastructure's ability to deliver applications and data effectively.
