Overview:
Launched in May 2000, International Securities Exchange (ISE) was the nation's first entirely electronic options market. ISE wanted to maintain competitiveness, accommodate increasingly large trading volumes, and keep pace with the industry's move to penny trading for options. ISE increased system capacity and maintained exchange reliability by moving to HP Integrity rx6600 and rx2600 Servers with Dual-Core Intel Itanium processors running HP OpenVMS.
