This paper focuses on providing statics of active malware infections in systems protected by anti-malware or security solutions and with the latest signature database installed ratios over time to be able to analyze the progression of the effectiveness of different protection technologies. It is found that users who are active and paying subscribers to anti-malware or security solutions are suffering from unsuspecting malware infections.
