Overview:
While most school departments wrestle with how to affordably "Wire" classrooms for computer education, West Park School in Derby, UK, went in a different direction for a solution in preparation for the school attaining 'specialist status' in 2005. To meet expectations within its government-funded budget, West Park's administrators sought an enterprise-class wireless solution that would give all students fast, secure access to applications throughout the school's three academic buildings. The school chose 3Com wireless solutions because they provided the most advanced features, such as Identity-Based networking and Power over Ethernet (PoE), at the most affordable price points and lowest cost of ownership.
